All About Reiki


Reiki supports your body systems to function better, which makes you feel better and feeling more able to tackle what you need to deal with.  When you are feeling calmer, you have greater access to the creative side of you that generates possibilities you may have not seen before.   It is always about getting to the root of the issues than just treating the current symptoms.

With your permission there will be a series of hand placements from head to toe.  Some people have sensations such as heat or a subtle movement in certain parts of their body.  It’s about restoring balance in the body so that the body can have the best conditions to heal itself.  Reiki is about the whole person not just the symptoms.  The body is an intricate system that is all connected where often if one part is out of balance it will affect other systems.

During a Reiki session your body will shift into a parasympathetic state which is the state where recovery, healing and restoration occurs at a higher rate where your breathing, heart rate and blood pressure improve.  Scientific evidence has shown that the simple act of breathing creates electrical activity in the human brain that enhances emotional judgments and memory recall.  In addition, the kind of nasal breathing associated with yoga or mediation, was found to sharpen perceptions in parts of the brain that process emotions such as fear.  When we are in the parasympathetic state we digest and sleep better which is imperative for optimal healthy bodies.
